Shepherd's Route

Interests: Nature, Fauna, Flora, Ethnography, Geology
On this journey we will admire unique landscapes of southern Portugal. From the top of Foia, with good visibility, it is possible to see the sea. Through paths of pastoralism one can observe the man-made terraces to hold land and create arable areas, important cultural and agricultural heritage. We will cross small streams framed in a natural environment where abundant species of trees and vegetation such as chestnut, pine tree, cork oak, willow, rock roses, rosemary, gorse, etc, grow. It's a good route for birdwatching.
