Wine Experience

 

This experience takes us to the Quinta de Mata Mouros, next to the Arade River, with vineyards with plants planted on a hill overlooking the Moorish city of Silves.

If wines are your passion, come and participate in the true wine tourism experience.

 

Wine Experience

The activity begins with a tour of the vineyards, where the various castes will be explained (Touriga Nacional, Cabernet Sauvignon, Aragonês, Sousão, Alvarinho and Arinto). Then follows a visit to the winery, where you can learn about the various stages of wine production and a visit to the barrel room to taste the wines ageing in oak barrels.

The experience ends with an introduction to the sensorial tasting of wines, with the possibility to taste wine barrels, wines ageing or the grape must.

Harvest

​

This activity begins in the vineyard, where you will participate in the maturation control process, the choice of grapes and the picking. In this mild climate the grapes reach their peak of ripeness earlier than in other areas. In this farm, the harvesting process is manual. The experience continues in the winery where you will participate in the traditional foot treading. This is the process that is traditionally used in the Douro wines. To conclude, there will be a tasting of two wines and grape must.
